Alamo Square Neighborhood Identity

branding, environmental design, signage

Identity for the neighborhood called Alamo Square in San Francisco. Along with Alamo Square Park, the neighborhood houses many historic mansions, including the Painted Ladies, William Westerfeld House and the Archbishop’s Mansion. The Painted Ladies, pastel-colored Victorian houses which overlook the park, are a huge tourist attraction. My identity is built around the unique shape of these Victorian homes which have become synonymous with Alamo Square and San Francisco. The A shape, inspired by the Painted Ladies, is the base for everything from icons to signage and the colors of the identity reference the color palette of each house.
